Fourth-Annual Rally in the Valley to Be Held in the CSUN Matadome Will Showcase Robotics Projects of Elementary School Students

California State University, Northridge Colleges of Engineering and Computer Science and Education will host the fourth-annual Rally in the Valley event on Saturday, May 6th in CSUN's Matadome. To date, over 14 schools are registered with almost 400 girls and boys to participate. The opening speaker for the program is expected to include CSUN's Dean Michael Spagna, among others from CSUN, LAUSD and the Los Angeles City Council. Read more

California eyes teacher pay boosts to keep them in state

Drs. Wendy Murawski, Vanessa Goodwin, and Mira Pak were recently featured in an article on efforts to increase the number of teachers in California’s schools — and keep them from fleeing the state, or the profession entirely, a few years in. “If there’s not a whole lot of support and they’re working long hours for low money, they leave the field,” said Wendy Murawski, the executive director and Eisner Endowed Chair of Cal State Northridge’s Center for Teaching and Learning. “Everybody comes in and wants to give 110 percent, but you can’t do that long term.”

Strength United Receives Generous Donation from the NFL!

Strength United 2016 LA Marathon Card

Strength United has just received a $50,000 grant from the National Football League through the National Sexual Violence Resource Center. With this, Strength United, a chartered center of the Michael D. Eisner College of Education at California State University, Northridge, will partner with the athletics departments of two community colleges, Los Angeles Pierce College (LAPC) and College of the Canyons (COC), to plan, implement, and evaluate sexual violence primary prevention programming.
