CARECEN offers free legal services to students, staff and faculty of California State Universities and Community Colleges. CARECEN’s College Legal Services Team provides free immigration legal services to current CSUN students, staff, faculty and their immediate family members (parents, siblings, spouses and children) and recent CSUN alums (up to two years after graduation). Appointments can be made virtually or in-person at the DREAM Center.

CARECEN provides services and assistance with:

  • General Consultation
  • DACA Renewals
  • Advance Parole
  • Family-Based Petition
  • Marriage Petitions
  • Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS): For youth under 21 years old who have been abandoned, abused or neglected by at least one of their biological parents.
  • U-Visas: For individuals who have been victims of violent crime.
  • T-Visas: For individuals who have been victims of severe human trafficking.
  • Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)
  • Citizenship Applications
  • Removal/Deportation Defense (In Immigration Court)

CSUN CARECEN Team

Pronouns: She/Her/Ella

Geno is a senior staff attorney at CARECEN, serving CSUN and a few other schools in the valley. She focuses on family-based and humanitarian immigration cases. Prior to her time at CARECEN, she worked with two other non-profits, focusing on recently arrived youth and adults who were survivors of crimes in the United States. She is passionate about helping others and providing clarity in the complex area of immigration law.

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Celeste has worked for CARECEN on the College Legal Services team for three years. As a senior paralegal she specializes in various forms of immigration relief, including family-based, DACA, citizenship and more. Celeste is happy to assist the CSUN community and is available for both virtual and in-person appointments.
