In this interactive session, audience members will engage with the East Texas Lighthouse Assistive Technology team learning core concepts and applications for braille displays and notetakers. Topics covered in this session will include the differences and similarities between braille displays and notetakers, school and work scenarios best suited for each device, and the timing and approach to introduce these devices to new learners.
Presenters will demonstrate scenarios and tasks which are better suited for braille displays or notetakers. In addition to providing reference materials created by the ETLB Assistive Technology team, attendees will be shown, through live demonstration, the variety of learning resources which are available for users to keep their skills sharp with their current and future braille devices.
