Accessibility Considerations for Security in Digital Banking

Date & Time
Friday, March 17, 2023 - 3:20 PM PST
Location
Platinum 2
Description
The domain for fraud has greatly expanded, as more banking activities migrate into digital spaces. Thus, security is a vital element of digital banking for every customer journey. At JPMorgan Chase, we aim to implement identity verification and authentication in ways that protect customers without reducing accessibility. This session examines low vision users’ experience with banking and proposes aspects of accessibility to consider for security in digital banking, based on prior research. We highlight the importance of labeling form fields, as well as specific supports for low vision users to complete their original banking task. When low vision users’ preference for digital channels in banking contexts is considered, this research highlights the importance of usability testing with blind and low vision users in building secure and accessible digital financial experiences.
