Remote Training Strategies for Employees with Disabilities

Date & Time
Friday, March 17, 2023 - 4:20 PM PST
Location
Grand CD
Description
Everyday work has shifted to a remote setting and employees with disabilities face unique challenges in receiving training, participating in meetings, communicating with colleagues and collaborating on team projects. Many employees with disabilities are finding the process to access remote meetings and the materials presented to be cumbersome and at times inaccessible. Employers sometimes are uncertain of how to modify their processes to ensure all employees have equal access to all meetings. Furthermore, specific challenges arise when an employee needs remote training on the Assistive Technology they use in the context of their work applications. A variety of processes are needed to ensure the employee receives competent training and the AT trainer has sufficient remote access to the employee’s workstation. TCS Access’ Senior Assistive Technology Specialist, Ben Soto and Harris Rosensweig, Director of Accessibility will provide best practices and real-world examples of how to maximize equal access for employees with disabilities who are now working remotely and need to engage in remote meetings and obtain remote training. This webinar is ideal for those who manage reasonable accommodations or assistive technology services and employees with disabilities and assistive technology users.
