Accessibility Q&A with the Access Board and GSA

The U.S. Access Board and the General Services Administration (GSA) will provide guidance on the interpretation and implementation of the revised Section 508 Standards and address recurring issues. The session will address using the standards to evaluate and acquire 508-conformant information technology. It is intended for entry level to intermediate audience.
Presenters Kathy Eng and Timothy Creagan of the U.S. Access Board and Michael Horton and Andrew Nielson of GSA will review the 508 Standards and address questions about specific provisions and definitions. Topics include Government-wide implementation and testing, and implementing Section 508 across an IT product’s lifecycle, including procurement, design and development, testing, and operations and maintenance.
Finally, they will describe resources and technical support available at www.Section508.gov. These resources include procurement tools for acquiring officials, and best practices in creating Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACR) for market research and selection during acquisition of IT.
