The Dot Pad: The Full Screen Tactile Display for the Blind

Date & Time
Friday, March 18, 2022 - 4:20 PM PST
Grand ABCD
With the given success of the Dot Watch, The Dot Pad will be the next flagship product in our corporate vision to make an impactful social change in the fields of education, employment, and access to information for the blind and the visually impaired. We would like to introduce The Dot pad: The Full-screen Tactile Display for the Blind that can bring GUI (Graphical User Interface) to them for the first time. By providing the Dot pad, we give “visually impaired” people wonderful tools, and they will do wonderful things. Simply put, it is an iPad for the blind. In a world of video content and images, the information gap for the blind and visually impaired is getting bigger and bigger. This is because the only technology that allows them to have real-time information in tactile are the one-line braille displays. The problem with one-line braille display is that information can only be given linearly. Imagine having to math horizontally. But not only that, there is a limitation in expressing images, shapes and sizes with one-line of braille display. But with a multi-layered braille display, we will be able to show images, graphics, and 2-dimensional figures and more. It is our most ambitious innovation so far. Dot pad will be the first type of user interface through which users interact with electronic devices via visual indicator representations.
