Description

Equal access to information on your website and other digital content channels is vital for successful marketing and communication. This session presents a practical approach for Marketers and Communicators to get started with better digital content accessibility, and helps break down barriers for a more accessible and inclusive content creation.

The consumption of digital content has never been greeted. In fact, on average we spend a whopping 6 hours and 59 mins consuming digital content per day. But there is an unseen barrier to this digital content, and that is that it's not always accessible and inclusive for all to access. Digital technology platforms are partly to blame, and have not always provided the correct technological infrastructure for users to share accessible content - but this is changing. Technology platforms are increasingly adding accessibility features to their platforms, yet many users are unaware of the importance of leveraging them.

This session will address this lack of adoption, and highlight easy ways for marketers and communicators to improve the accessibility of the digital content that they produce on a daily basis. From an initial framework of how to incorporate accessibility into their digital content processes, to highlighting some of the most common mistakes and errors, this session will highlight actionable ways that individuals can make a difference in producing more inclusive and accessible content.

The presentation will walk through some of the most common types of digital content, including website, online documents, social media, videos and webinars, and email marketing, and provide a practical approach on how to get started with adjustments that make a big difference to users that leverage assistive technology to access digital content.
