Description
Widely embraced as the “world’s most accessible FREE reading app,” in this session we will be showcasing the results of our international pilot—deployed in the UK, Nordic Countries and US—that has helped us to develop additional versions of EasyReader which are appropriate for individuals, educational organizations, and assistive technology partners. EasyReader is an accessible reading app designed for people who are blind, partially sighted or have dyslexia. It provides direct access to the world’s largest collection of accessible book and newspaper services. Whether a user is learning to read, reading to learn, or reading for pleasure, with EasyReader they can read what they want, where they want, on any device they want! FREE EasyReader is for anyone with an iOS, Android or Fire device who needs accessibility support when reading. It is localized in 30+ languages and directly connects to ALL the world’s most widely embraced digital accessible libraries. In addition to library access, a user can open files from their device or copy text from other sources, like the internet, and listen to it read aloud. It is easily customizable too, allowing adjustments to the way text looks—highlight, background and font colors, text size, line spacing and letter spacing. It can also shift between natural sounding text-to-speech or audio books. Users with sight loss can easily use EasyReader with accessibility options available in their respective platform--VoiceOver on iOS and Talkback and Brailleback on Android devices. EasyReader Premium enhances the free version of the app by adding synchronization across all devices. Library logins, customized settings, last text position and bookmarks. Each action and custom preference setting is updated across all devices each time EasyReader is used. This is perfect for students who may use different devices at school, at home and on the go. Premium delivers efficiency features to teachers too, like enabling them to assign books in Bookshare, to share files and worksheets they’ve created with students. Teachers and administrators can even track progress. Our low-cost, site-based pricing ensures EVERY student who might benefit can use EasyReader. EasyReader for Partners is already being implemented in many of your favorite assistive technology software and devices like the BrailleNote Touch Plus, Connect 12, Matt Connect and the CCTV, Reveal 16i. Our partners have classified EasyReader as best-in-class when it comes to accessible e-readers and including it in their top-notch solutions enables them to deliver the most robust experience to their industry segments. For up-and-coming accessible library publishers, EasyReader includes Bespoke app development, making it easy to connect your library collection to the app, empowering you to extend your reach to our vast install base. Whether you are a user, an education professional or assistive technology partner, it will be worth your time to attend this session and meet the new EasyReader!
