Land of Trees: A Book Talk by Photographer James Rodriguez

Land of Trees (2024) documents two decades of Postwar Guatemala (1996-present). It attempts to visually narrate the perilous search for justice for thousands of wartime victims and survivors. Additionally, it aims to illustrate that despite increased social conflicts activists and community leaders continue to staunchly defend Indigenous territories against foreign extractive industries in cahoots with oligarchical powers.
