The Center is committed to fostering meaningful partnerships with the business community with the following goals:

  • To enrich students’ understanding of risk management and insurance (RMI) practices in the real world.
  • To help grow the pipeline of future RMI professionals.

Society Partners

Insurance education at CSUN has been receiving steadfast support from local CPCU chapters: CPCU LA Chapter and CPCU CA El Camino Chapter

Partnership:

1.These two chapters have provided scholarships to CSUN students annually.
2.Selected students are invited to attend annual CPCU Industry Days on October. See photos of our Matadors from previous CPCU Industry Days.

Newsletters:

Insurance education at CSUN has been receiving continuous support from the LA Chapter of the RIMS.

Partnership:

1.Mr. Vincent J. Monastersky, President of the LA RIMS, gave a $5,000 check to Dr. Mu-Sheng Chang in support of the Insurance Program at CSUN in 2016. See photos commemorating the generous donations.
2.Selected CSUN students are invited to attend the annual LA RIMS Education Day.

Corporate Partners

Farmers Insurance has sponsored an innovative course at CSUN, team taught by a group of Farmers executives and CSUN faculty, since 2013. Farmers Insurance has hosted CSUN students on the campus of the University of Farmers, Agoura Hills, California, annually since 2008. Mr. William Blake, Southwest Executive of Zurich Insurance, will present at the Professor for a Day event on Oct. 5, 2016 and participate at Insurance Night at CSUN on Nov. 16, 2016.
