Career Champions

Every CSUN student deserves more than a degree. They deserve direction, confidence, and a real path forward.
CSUN Career Champions are staff and faculty who help students connect what they are learning to where they want to go. With a short, practical training experience, you will gain tools, language, and resources you can use immediately to support students with basic career readiness.
Career success does not happen in one office. It happens across a campus. When more of us are equipped, more students move forward.
Why Become a Career Champion
The CSU has made a clear commitment to student success and long-term economic mobility. An important measure of that success is whether students graduate with the ability to secure meaningful employment and build a stable future.
Students do better when career exploration and preparation start early and show up often. A quick conversation with the right support at the right moment can change a student’s trajectory.
Becoming a Career Champion means you are part of a campus-wide effort to make career development a normal part of the student experience, not something students discover at the last minute.
As a Career Champion, you help strengthen:
-
Student confidence and direction
-
Early action on career goals
-
Awareness and use of CSUN career resources
-
A culture where career readiness is reinforced everywhere students show up
This program is for people who want their work to translate into student outcomes that last beyond graduation.
What is a Career Champion
A Career Champion is a member of the CSUN community committed to helping students make meaningful connections between their academic experience and career opportunities.
You do not need to be a career counselor to make an impact. You need the right tools, a clear pathway, and the willingness to guide students toward the next step.
Career Champion Program Goal
Students who have opportunities to explore and plan for their careers are more likely to be successful.
The CSUN Career Champions Program equips staff and faculty with practical tools to support students’ career readiness. The goal is simple: help more students build momentum during their time at CSUN so they can graduate prepared to pursue opportunities with confidence.
