A panel of four experienced publishing professionals will discuss the state of the industry today, the availability of jobs, what skills and expertise are required to be competitive, what a book producer does, and overlooked avenues into the publishing world.

The Publisher of L.A. Parent magazine and president of Epstein Custom Media, Ron has spent his entire career in the publishing and media industries -- and it all started at the Daily Sundial.

Dan López is the author of The Show House and an editorial assistant at Counterpoint Press.
Kate Marshall – Editor, UC Press
Kate Marshall joined UC Press in 2008 and is the acquisitions editor for scholarly and general interest books in the fields of anthropology, food studies, and Latin American studies.
Dan Ruth - Senior Acquisitions Editor, Sage Publications
Prior to Sage, Dan worked at WB Saunders (Elsevier) in text and reference books, editorial production, marketing, sales, and acquisitions.

A CSUN alum, Rachelle Yousuf has worked and volunteered in the literary world for the last 8 years. She works as a literary event producer in Los Angeles and was the Head of Membership at PEN Center USA, a literary arts nonprofit.
