CSUN Alum Paul Dali Returns for Nazarian College's Distinguished Speaker Series by Carmen Ramos Chandler, CSUN Today

California State University, Northridge alumnus Paul Dali will launch this semester’s Distinguished Speaker Series in CSUN’s David Nazarian College of Business and Economics on Wednesday, March 11.

Dali, chairman at Holon Solutions and former general manager and chairman of the Marketing Council at Apple, will share stories about Apple’s early days and talk about his career in technology, business and innovation.

The event is scheduled to be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Northridge Center Room of the University Student Union, located on the east side of the campus off Zelzah Avenue. Parking is $8 per vehicle at the information booth located on Prairie Street and Zelzah Avenue. The event is free, but seating is limited.

“This Distinguished Speaker Series provides our students a great opportunity to listen and learn from our successful alumni,” said Chandra Subramaniam, dean of the Nazarian College. “We want our students to believe in their own potential success and see themselves as the next generation of business leaders. Paul Dali has had a remarkable career at the cutting edge of technology and innovation. He is a great inspiration and role model for all students at CSUN.”

Dali graduated from CSUN in 1967 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and has more than 50 years of technology related experience. He’s held senior leadership positions at Apple Computer and Regis McKenna, and has extensive background in developing management teams, marketing channels, global market positioning, strategic collaborations and leveraging companies’ core competencies. As one of Apple’s first employees, Dali worked closely with Steve Jobs to launch Apple’s first products.

The Distinguished Speaker Series was created through a gift from the Leon Lowenstein Foundation. This is the seventh semester the Nazarian College will host the event. Past speakers have included Henry Cisneros, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the Clinton administration; Jane Wurwand, founder of Dermalogica, the largest professional skincare brand in the world; Steve Rabuchin, vice president for Amazon Alexa Voice Services and Alexa Skills; Michael Grillo, executive producer on movies such as Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War”; Michael Kramer, CEO and founding partner of Ducera Partners; and Bruce Gersh, president of People, People En Español and Entertainment Weekly. Rabuchin, Grillo, Kramer and Gersh are all alumni of the Nazarian College.
