Nazarian College alumna Heather J. Briggs ’98 (Accounting Theory and Practice) has created the Heather J. Briggs Scholarship Endowment to provide an annual scholarship award to a student in the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics.
Heather is passionate about ensuring equitable access to higher education for everyone, which inspired her to create the endowed scholarship and support current and future students in the Nazarian College.
“As I continue to learn about the racial and economic inequities in this country, I struggled to know what I could do to help, and the problem seemed far bigger than something one individual could solve” said Briggs. “After reading a quote from Cory Booker about not letting your inability to do everything undermine your determination to do something, it became increasingly clear to me that I could help in my immediate community by providing more attainable access to education to an underserved community. And what better place to do that than CSUN!”
