Student Legal Support Clinic

The Student Legal Support Clinic (“Clinic”) is a unique collaboration between CSUN, the Associated Students and Southwestern Law School’s Community Lawyering Clinic.  The Clinic is directed by Southwestern Professor and Directing Attorney Julia Vázquez and staffed by law students under her direct supervision. 



Where is the Student Legal Support Clinic located? 

The Clinic is located on the 2nd floor of the CSUN Reseda Annex, room 204. The Annex is located 9324 Reseda Blvd, Northridge, CA 91324.


When is the Clinic open? 

Beginning September 6, 2018, during the Fall 2018 semester, the Clinic will be open on Mondays & Thursdays, by appointment only.

Who is eligible to receive services?  

The Clinic is open to all currently enrolled CSUN students.  


What kind of services does the Clinic provide?

In a survey conducted by the Associated Students, immigration was identified as a top priority for CSUN students.  The Clinic will provide pro bono advice, counsel and representation to CSUN students in a variety of immigration legal services, including, but not limited to: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, Adjustment of Status, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status ("SIJS"), Violence against Women Act ("VAWA"), U visa and Naturalization Services.  In addition to client representation, Southwestern Law Students will conduct community based legal workshops to meet the needs of the CSUN student community.   


What if I have a legal issue that is not related to immigration? 

The Clinic is committed to assisting all CSUN students gain access to legal services.  For cases that fall outside of the scope of our representation, the Clinic will provide CSUN students with information about their legal rights as well as referrals to reputable pro-bono or low-cost legal services.
