Dear campus community,
On behalf of Associated Students, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the victims and their family and friends who were affected by last week's tragedy in Las Vegas. Many of our own students, faculty and staff were directly impacted by the events as several were in attendance.
I ask that as a campus community, we use this moment to come together in solidarity and support our fellow Matadors who are still trying to make sense out of what has happened. It is also an appropriate time to reiterate the many resources our campus has to offer.
University Counseling Services is available to assist any students who are coping with depression, grief or any other general mental health concerns during regular business hours from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. For urgent care assistance after hours, please call (818) 677-2366.
The Department of Police Services is encouraging students to stay safe and aware of their surroundings, both on and off campus.
For emergencies, dial 9-1-1. Text to 911, to text Your Emergency & Location to CSUN Police Department. For non-emergencies (24 hrs.), call (818) 677-2111. For tips, call the WeTip Hotline at (818) 677-TIPS (8477).
In an effort to maintain educational awareness during the event that there is an active shooter on campus, please refer to Police Services' resources.
In addition, I would like to commend the University Student Union for hosting several blood drives for the victims of last week’s shooting.
