Big Lecture: Magic Johnson

Monday, April 4, 2016 - 5:30pm to 7:00pm

Magic Johnson

Big Lecture 2016 presented by Associated Students Productions.

Five-time NBA champion and three-time MVP Award winner, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, will be headlining our Big Lecture event. A basketball legend who has since become one of the most powerful African American businessmen in the world, Johnson will pull from his entrepreneurial successes and personal challenges to motivate and energize attendees.

The two-time Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee currently serves as the chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises (MJE), an organization that reaches ethnically diverse and underserved urban communities through strategic alliances, investments, consulting and endorsements. He is a co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA, as well as Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Football Club. Johnson also has controlling interests in EquiTrust, a $14 billion financial services company and SodexoMAGIC, a food service and facilities management company.

Johnson has made giving back to the community a significant focus in his life. Johnson also serves as chairman and founder of the Magic Johnson Foundation — one of the most recognizable philanthropic organizations in the world — where his unwavering commitment to transform urban America continues through HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention programs, community empowerment centers and scholarship programs.

This event is $10. Tickets can be purchased from the AS Ticket office (located in the USU). Limit one ticket per person. Open to the public.
