CSUN ROTC

MISSION

"To educate, train, and develop leaders of character and to prepare Cadets to become U.S. Army Officers."

What is Army ROTC?

Army Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC) is an elective curriculum you take along with your required college courses. Upon graduating from college, Cadets will commission as Second Lieutenants in the United States Army full-time or part-time in the U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard while also pursuing a civilian career. ROTC gives you the tools, training and experiences that will help you succeed in any competitive environment. Along with great leadership training, Army ROTC can help pay for your college tuition.

Because ROTC is an elective, you can participate your freshman and sophomore years without any obligation to join the Army. You will have a normal college student experience like everyone else on campus, but once you graduate, you will be commissioned as an Officer in the Army and be given a particular specialty or "branch" (Infantry, Aviation, Medical, Intelligence, etc). Some branches are more competitive to get into than others, but you will have the opportunity during your junior year to make your preferences known.

The program hosts one of the best leadership development programs in the nation and trains Cadets/Students to become future Officers in the U.S. Army. Army ROTC curriculum prepares you with the tools, training and experiences that will help develop you into a successful Army Officer.
