October 26, 2012 Spring 2013 Registration Access Mailer sent to new, eligible students. Email sent to new and continuing students. See Semester Bulletin.
November 1, 2012 Academic Advisement/First-Time Freshman Registration begins.
November 6 - December 10, 2012 Registration-by-Appointment. Maximum load: 13 units. Repeating courses is not permitted.
November 12, 2012 Holiday; all offices closed; no instruction (Veterans’ Day Observed).
November 21, 2012 Student Services Center closes at 5:00 p.m. (eve of Thanksgiving recess).
November 22-24, 2012 Thanksgiving Recess; all offices closed; no instruction; no Saturday class on 11/24 (Thanksgiving Day-Thursday, November 22; Admission Day Observed-Friday, November 23).
November 30, 2012 Previously disqualified students should apply for Fall 2013 admission during the initial filing period, which ends November 30.
December 11, 2012 - January 21, 2013 Nonrestrictive Registration and Wait Listing (no appointment needed). Maximum load: 16 units. Repeating courses is permitted beginning January 17, 2013.
December 17, 2012 Spring 2013 automobile parking permits are available for purchase online. See "Student Parking Information" at CSUN Parking Services.
December 20, 2012 Winter Term 2013 online courses begin. For information, contact the Tseng College of Extended Learning.
December 24, 2012 Campus closed.
December 25, 2012-January 1, 2013 Winter Recess; all offices closed; no instruction except for Winter Term 2013 online courses. (Christmas Day Observed-Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012; Lincoln’s Birthday Observed-Wednesday, Dec. 26; Washington’s Birthday Observed-Thursday, Dec. 27; Columbus Day Observed-Friday, Dec. 28; no holiday observance-Monday, Dec. 31; New Year’s Day Observed-Tuesday, January 1, 2013)
January 1, 2013 2013-2014 Federal and California Financial Aid Application period begins. Priority consideration given to those who file FAFSA by March 2, 2013.
January 2 Winter Term face-to-face courses begin. For information, contact the Tseng College of Extended Learning.
January 12 First spring Financial Aid payments start this week (weekly thereafter).
January 17 Repeating courses is permitted.
January 21 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - Holiday: all offices closed.
January 21 Last day to DROP all classes and qualify for a full refund (minus $10)
January 22 Weekday classes begin.
January 22-February 8 Late Registration (by permission only) and Schedule Adjustment (Weeks 1-3). Repeating courses is permitted. Late Registration fee: $25.00.
January 26 Saturday-only classes begin.
February 8 Last day to Register Late, Add classes using permission numbers, Drop a class, or Change Basis of Grading (end of Week 3) through myNorthridge.

Last day to qualify for a partial refund (minus $10) due to a drop in unit load below 6.1.
March 1 Last day to confirm awarding of baccalaureate degree for students who completed graduation requirements for Fall 2012.

Deadline to apply for Fall 2013 undergraduate graduation.
March 2 Deadline for Financial Aid application priority consideration.
March 6-7 Grad Fest - Prepare for 2013 Commencement.

March 29 Last day (60% point) to qualify for a prorated refund (minus $10). Students who remain enrolled after this date may not need to repay financial aid.
April 1 César Chavez Day Observed - Holiday; all offices closed; no instruction.
April 2 Deadline for previously disqualified undergraduate and second bachelor students to submit the Previously Disqualified Questionnaire for Fall 2013 readmission.
April 8-13 Spring Recess; no instruction. Offices open shorter business hours.
May 10 Last day of formal instruction except for Saturday classes meeting once weekly.

Deadline to to submit graduate thesis, project, abstract, and dissertation for Spring 2013.
May 13-18 Final Examinations Week. Learn how to View Final Exam Schedule. Grades are posted online approximately one week after finals.

April 1 César Chavez Day observed - Holiday: all offices closed, no instruction.
April 3-May 27 Nonrestrictive Registration, Sessions 1 and 2. No appointment needed. Repeating courses is permitted.
April 3-July 9 Nonrestrictive Registration, Session 3. No appointment needed. Repeating courses is permitted.
May 27 Memorial Day Holiday; all offices closed; no instruction.
May 28 Summer Term 2013 begins.
Session 1 (12 weeks) and Session 2 (6 weeks) begin.
May 28-June 7 Late Registration/Schedule Adjustment, Sessions 1 and 2.
July 4 Independence Day Holiday; campus closed; no instruction
July 9 Session 2 ends.
July 10 Session 3 (6 weeks) begins.

August 21 Fall 2013 Financial Aid balance checks are mailed (or deposited by eRefund) starting today and weekly hereafter.

September 13 Last day to register late, add a class, drop, or change basis of grading using SOLAR self-service (end of Week 3).

December 10 Last day of formal instruction.
