The Languages and Cultures Alumni Chapter connects alumni, students, faculty, and friends of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures to celebrate the lifelong value of language learning and intercultural understanding. The chapter seeks to strengthen connections within the CSUN community, recognize the accomplishments of alumni, support current students, and promote the continued growth and visibility of MCLL and its programs.
The chapter hopes to offer a variety of professional, educational, cultural, and social programs, including:
- Networking events for alumni, students, and faculty
- Career panels and conversations with alumni and professionals
- Cultural celebrations, lectures, and community events
- Student mentoring and professional development opportunities
- Scholarship and departmental fundraising initiatives
- Language tables, conversation hours, and lifelong learning activities
- Volunteer opportunities that support the department and its students
Membership is open to CSUN alumni of all backgrounds who share an interest in world languages, literatures, and cultures, including not only MCLL majors and minors but also alumni whose CSUN experience included world languages-related coursework, club activities, or study abroad. The chapter also welcomes friends and supporters of the department who wish to help foster an engaged and vibrant multilingual community.
