Deborah Wylie
Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) announced the hiring of Deborah Wylie, AIA as the firm’s new Higher Education Studio leader. Wylie will be based in Los Angeles and will collaborate on all aspects of the office’s Higher Education Studio. Wylie has worked on a number of key higher education projects, including leading all design efforts to rebuild California State University, Northridge after the devastating 1994 earthquake; development of long-range plans for the adaptive re-use of the Camarillo State Mental Hospital into the newest California State University Channel Islands campus; and convening a Seismic Mitigation Task Force for the University of California system to renew the seismic safety policy. Prior to joining HED, Wylie was associate vice president for capital programs at the University of California Office of the President, where she led capital planning, design, construction, real estate, physical and environmental planning. -- School Construction News

He is an accidental broadcaster. He needed money as a student at Central Michigan University, so he took a job as a janitor at a radio station. The general manager heard Enberg's voice and put him on the air, but Enberg earned his doctorate in health sciences and pursued a career in education.
