On New Year’s Day in 1976, Cal State Northridge student Daniel Finegood scaled Mt. Lee with $50 worth of curtains and changed the sign. Manuel "Manny" Minjares has been an elected member of the Fillmore City Council since 2012. He is housing director for Turning Point Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports adults facing mental illness. He previously worked for Cabrillo Economic Development Corp. and the city of Fillmore. He earned his bachelor's degree in urban studies and planning from CSU Northridge.
