El Corazón de México reveals more anniversary surprises

A dozen dancers from El Corazón de México Ballet Folklorico traveled to a showcase event earlier this year at California State University in Northridge (CSUN). “Bajo Las Estrella” is a 13th anniversary celebration of a Mexican dance troupe founded by its director and choreographer Karina Estrella. The head of that dance troupe came to Toledo last October to teach new dances to El Corazón. Six couples then made the trip to perform Sonora Bronco, which involved a lot of fundraising, as will the Ohio trips to cover hotels, meals, and travel. -- La Prensa - OH

L.A. Metro's Prop. 13-Driven Christmas Tree

Metro’s hope is that if people don’t vote for the interests of the county as a whole, they’ll at least vote for their own parochial interests. That’s why even small jurisdictions and institutions — some as as specific and localized as Cal State University, Northridge — are keeping score. As the Los Angeles Daily News reports, not everyone is happy, especially cities in south and southwestern L.A. County. Metro just hopes that enough people are happy. -- California Planning & Development Report
