Flores is the youngest of three children and the first to receive a college degree. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Master of Science in Counseling from California State University, Northridge. She is also an alumna of Ventura College. Flores discovered her calling to serve low-income first-generation students while working at the CSUN-Ventura campus. But don’t expect the cookie cutter: Klarin’s works have a way of capturing grit. Opens Monday and runs through Oct. 8.
