Breaking Down the New York Mets Draft
The remainder of the Mets first 10 picks were all right-handed college pitchers, two of whom were starters and three were relievers. Two whom are worthy of note were sixth round pick Marcel Renteria (New Mexico State University), who can hit 99 MPH with his fastball, and seventh round pick, Conner O’Neil (Cal State Northridge University), who broke school records for saves in a single season, and in a career. These picks really drove in the narrative that the Mets want to retool their pitching stock. --YardBarker
