La Habra’s Alyssa Palacios is Whittier Daily News Softball Player of the Year

Hannah Johnson, who has been one of the top pitchers in the area the past two seasons, and pitcher-infielder Janelle Rodriguez are going to Big West Conference champion Cal State Fullerton, and outfielder Kira Cauley, arguably one of the fastest runners in the area, going to Big West rival Cal State Northridge. Cauley shined in the all-star season, playing in three games and winning the North MVP in the OC North-South All-Star Game. -- Whittier Daily News

Cal State Professor Makes Case for Tolling Existing Interstate Highways

The Fiscal Times publishes an op-ed by Robert Krol, an economics professor at California State University, Northridge, who writes, “The president was elected in part because he convinced voters he was a dealmaker who could get things done in Washington. He now needs to sell the idea that tolls can play a key role in making U.S. infrastructure great again. If Congress listens, the drive home from work each night won’t take so long.” -- Tollroad News

The majority on the Pima County Board of Supervisors has supported proceeding “in the face of that legal uncertainty.” They have chosen to ignore the advice of Shirley V. Svorny, Ph.D., an economics professor at California State University Northridge. Old rescue animals and their people teach value of life
