Cruz holds a Bachelor’s of Science in business administration with a minor in public administration from Cal State Bakersfield and a master’s degree in public administration with a leadership and management concentration from Cal State Northridge. He has completed the school business management program at USC, and is currently working toward his doctorate in public administration. Born in 1932 in Los Angeles, where she lived and worked for her entire life, Channa Horwitz studied graphic design in the early 1950s at Art Center College of Design and Fine Art at Cal State Northridge in the early 1960s. In 1972 she received a BFA from the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California. There she studied with more well-known colleagues John Baldessari and Allan Kaprow, participating in some of Kaprow’s notorious ‘Happenings’ and creating her own. -- Art Daily

Mills College Art Museum exhibits works by Jennifer Brandon and Jay DeFeo

Jennifer Brandon lives and works in San Francisco, CA. In 2007, she received her MFA at Mills College preceded by an MA in 2005 and BA in 2004 in Art with an emphasis in painting at California State University, Northridge, as well as a BA in 1997 in English Literature at San Francisco State University. Brandon has been included in exhibitions in the Bay Area at Stephen Wirtz Gallery, Headlands Center for the Arts, Swarm Gallery, Pro Arts Gallery and The San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art in San Jose, as well as the Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Brandon currently teaches at Mills College, and has taught at San Francisco State University, Sonoma State University and UC Berkeley. -- Art Daily

Mixing the joy and melancholy for Cuba's past with the exuberant sounds of contemporary performance, the 17-piece Afro-Cuban All-Stars bring the next generation of Cuban music to life on stage.
