A seasoned ski resort food-and-beverage professional with more than 30 years of multiunit responsibility in the resort industry, Snyder most recently was senior vice president of food and beverage for Intrawest. Based out of the Steamboat Resort, he oversaw six resorts in North America with over 80 restaurant venues, as well as all food-and-beverage operations at the Steamboat Resort. Prior to his time at Intrawest, Jim held executive food and beverage positions at Canyons Resort, and was vice president of food and beverage for American Skiing Company. Snyder began his career as the Executive Vice President of Good Earth restaurants, a pioneering concept in the natural food industry. He is a graduate of California State University-Northridge with a bachelor of arts in political science. -- Hotel Management

CSU Garners New Grant Funding to Expand Four-Year Teacher Preparation Programs

Currently, seven CSU campuses—Bakersfield, Chico, Fresno, Long Beach, Monterey Bay, Northridge and San Marcos—offer four-year teacher preparation programs. With the Integrated Program Grants, 16 additional campuses will establish four-year credentialing programs. Monterey Bay, which already offers a four-year credentialing program, will add bilingual and Special Education credentialing options. The new four-year programs will begin admitting students in fall 2018 for the 2018-19 academic year. -- SCV News

Wall Street Journal Names La Sierra University Most Diverse in Region, Nation

The recent WSJ/THE publication shows La Sierra in the number one spot regionally for “Top Schools for Environment,” an additional recognition to its number one national score in the same category in the WSJ/THE “U.S. College Rankings” published September 28. In the western region, La Sierra heads a top-10 ranking of twelve other schools, some in tied positions, also lauded for the diversity of their student body and faculty. California State University, Northridge and San Francisco State University tied for second place in the region after La Sierra, and also came in third place nationally along with Johnson & Wales University in North Miami. On the national level, the CUNY City College of New York scored second place for diversity. -- Spectrum
