So Cal Prep Legends Daily Bulletin Female Athlete of Week: Nicole Nevarez, Los Osos

Noteworthy: The 6-foot-2 senior hitter tallied 23 kills and 19 digs in a five-set win over Murrieta Mesa. Then later in the week she helped the Grizzlies to a 3-0 sweep of Glendora with 13 kills with only two hitting errors on 27 attempts hitting for a total .407. Matthews was arguably the most experienced player on the Indians’ roster this year. With a team-high 17 CIF playoff games under her belt, she was a confident defender who helped her team to 13 shutouts this past season. She also had four assists on the season.
