2021 MLB Draft: Grading Each Team

Sleeper Pick: Denzel Clarke, OF, Cal State Northridge (CA)... Denzel Clarke was a pick that stood out to me. A toolsy outfielder with the size and athleticism to go along with his raw power. Five-tool potential? There is that possibility. He’ll just need to tap into that raw power and consistently hit better. --Through the Fence Baseball

2021 Draft Odds and Ends

Oakland ended up drafting a nice mix of perceived floor and upside. First rounder Max Muncy is a hit-tool-driven high school middle infielder, second round Virginia third baseman Zack Gelof is a well-rounded offensive player with a plus glove at third, and fourth round Cal State Northridge outfielder Denzel Clarke has gargantuan tools. The selection of Garder-Webb senior Mason Miller in the third round is an indication Muncy might be over-slot. He’s a prospect in his own right, a relief-only look up to 98. --FanGraphs

Kevin Anderson, former Maryland athletic director, back in college athletics with new job

Anderson was Maryland's AD from 2011 to 2018, his tenure ending after his relationship with then-school president Wallace Loh gradually deteriorated and he was replaced by Damon Evans, who remains Maryland's A.D. He worked with Pine at Army from 2005 to 2008, Pine serving as an associate A.D. More than a decade later, they've teamed together in reversed roles, after it appeared Anderson might be finished with college administration; after a short stint as interim A.D. at Cal State-Northridge, he's spent the past few years with a firm that consults with colleges on hirings. -- 247 Sports
