Frequently Asked Questions

We look forward to sharing our Matador spirit with you at Admitted Matadors Day! Here are a few things new Matadors often ask about the event. If you can’t find what you’re looking for on our Admitted Matadors Day site, please call our Student Outreach and Recruitment team at (818) 677-2967 or email outreach.recruitment@csun.edu. Go, Matadors!

Registration is available here. Admitted students receive several email invitations prompting them to register. Preregistration is encouraged so we can plan for you and send you a parking permit in advance. Same-day registration is accepted — and you will still get a parking permit — but you’ll need to take it back to your car and place it on your dashboard. For same-day registration, please have your CSUN student ID number or CSUN email address handy.

When you request an ASL interpreter in advance, you will receive an email from Student Outreach and Recruitment to confirm final details. We make every effort to provide requested interpreter services; however, due to a shortage of qualified interpreters, availability is not guaranteed.

If you forgot to request an ASL interpreter when you registered, please email Antonette.Abejuela@csun.edu as soon as possible.

Event parking is free in all student lots, including the structures. Do not park in spots marked for employees. When you register for Admitted Matadors Day, we’ll email you a printable parking permit to display on your dashboard and let you know which parking lots are closest to the welcome tents where you check in. We recommend parking in lots B3 or G3 for easy access to check-in.

When you arrive, please check in at a welcome tent. Check-in opens at 8 a.m.

We recommend attending an I’ve Been Admitted — What’s Next? presentation at 8:30 a.m. for an overview of CSUN and how to stay on track for fall enrollment.

After that, explore your major at an Academic Showcase and learn more about financial aid, Student Housing and campus life in helpful presentations. There are also tours, a Resource Fair, cultural community mixers and more. You’ll get a printed program when you check in.

Our Majors & Programs tool will help you find your academic college.

From start to finish, the tour lasts about 75 minutes, including shuttle transportation to and from Student Housing. Shuttles leave from the Ralph Prator Fountain every 30 minutes beginning at 8:45 a.m. The last tour leaves at 2 p.m. Student Housing tours are popular. So that we can accommodate as many students as possible, please limit your participation to the student plus one guest.

If you’d rather skip the line, we encourage you to attend the Student Housing and Residential Life presentation in the University Library. You can also check out the virtual Student Housing tour anytime from the comfort of home.

The campus tour lasts about 30 minutes. Tours begin at 8 a.m. and leave every 10 minutes from Matador Square. The last tour of the day leaves at 2:30 p.m.

The line might look long, but it moves quickly! Lines are generally shorter in the afternoon.

Visitas guiadas en español disponibles previa solicitud.

The Resource Fair (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), the Matador Student Experience presentation (1 to 1:50 p.m.) and the cultural community mixers (2 to 3 p.m.) are all great ways to find out about student life and involvement opportunities at CSUN.

No, but it’s the best way to make sure you’re on track for enrollment in the fall. Plus, you’ll find out about helpful resources, explore campus, meet staff and faculty, and connect with fellow new students.

Admitted Matadors Day is your opportunity to connect with faculty and staff to learn more about your major, discover resources and better understand why you belong at CSUN and why you should say “yes!” to your offer of admission.

New Student Orientation (NSO) takes place over the summer and is designed to help you build a sense of community as you learn your way around, continue meeting new people and develop your plan for success as a #ProudMatador.
