To assist in our campus repopulation efforts, the Accounting Department office is currently open for in-person service on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00am-5:00pm for the fall 2021 semester. We will continue to offer virtual services on the remaining days, except weekends and holidays, from 8:00am-5:00pm.

Department of Accounting and Information Systems
The Department offers a number of academic degree programs: a B.S. in Accountancy, a B.S. in Information Systems, a Minor in Information Systems, a Masters in Professional Accountancy (MPAcc), and a Masters in Science in Taxation (MST).
A Career in Accounting
The accounting program provides educational opportunities to those students who have demonstrated an aptitude to pursue a career in accounting. The Accountancy program is a very demanding, competitive, and rigorous course of study that develops an understanding of accounting theory, technical procedures, and the professional standards and ethics essential to becoming a successful professional in public, industry, government, and not-for-profit accounting. The program also develops skills in critical thinking, problem solving, written and oral communication, and decision making, in addition to developing the necessary tools to engage in lifelong learning after graduation.
The field of accounting offers stimulating and challenging work that is constantly evolving. Career opportunities are available in public accounting, industry, government, not-for-profit instituions, and other business-related organizations.

The study of Information Systems (IS) centers on the effective use of information technology (IT) – computers and telecommunications networks – to support management decision-making and corporate strategy, in addition to providing all necessary operational level support for an organization.
Information is the lifeblood of all organizations in the 21st century. With knowledge of both business and technology, IS professionals are uniquely qualified to develop technological solutions that help businesses compete and prosper.
Careers in IS/IT are among the fastest growing jobs in Los Angeles county and the nation! IS career opportunities are available in a variety of industries, including: consulting, banking, education, entertainment, government, software publishing, and many others.
