Start Strong at CSUN with Academic First Year Experiences Courses
Join a First Year Experience seminar and start your journey at CSUN with the tools, guidance, and community you need to thrive. Our small, supportive seminars for freshmen and transfer students ease your transition into university life by helping you build connections, understand campus resources, and develop the academic confidence you need to succeed.
Academic and Social Enrichment
Academic First Year Experiences courses are a known high-impact practice. This means that students who take a success seminar during their first semester show higher rates of retention and graduation, they maintain higher GPAs, and they complete units at a faster pace than students who do not take a success seminar.
New CSUN Freshmen
U100 will guide and support you as you join the CSUN community. Our small class sizes allow you to meet other freshmen and begin building a sense of belonging on campus.
New CSUN Transfers
U301 guides you through your transition to CSUN, introducing you to university life, academic requirements and expectations, university policies, and support resources and services.
