For my On Line Bibliography, Id like to focus on the topic of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. A Skeletomuscular Disorder, Carpal Tunnel is often the result of a combination of factors. Anything that causes swelling on the tendons or produces repeated pressure on the Median Nerve can lead to Carpal Tunnel. There is a select amount of people who are more likely to suffer from Carpal Tunnel. A simple blow to the wrists or a break in one of the bones can encourage the onset of Carpal Tunnel. My bibliography focuses on information on Carpal Tunnel from causes ,to treatment and prevention. 1. http://carpal-tunnel.com/ This is a good site. Its homepage has links to a number of information pages. Its tone is serious, and Id recommend it to a person who was looking for general info. on the disease. Its links lead to info., on symptoms, causes, anatomy, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Although it has a link for treatment, the link doesnt offer any creams or anything to help relieve the pain like I found on other sites. Not the most detailed sites, but its ver informative. 2. http://www.farb.com/ The homepage of this site is a billboard for a C.T.S. (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) cream. Links can take you to a number of places (regarding the cream) . There is a link that takes you to a page on info., on just the cream. There are also links to product testimonials, company information, and info., on simply what C.T.S is all about. Aside from the little tiny information on the actual disease, there isnt much else except advertisements. Id recommend this site to anybody who is suffering from the disease and is looking for a possible remedy. 3. http://www.co.broward.fl.us/mei00206.htm This is an in your face site. It starts by talking about the causes, and preventive strategies for Carpal Tunnel. I call it an in your face site because its a link from another page that gives you a lot of info., as soon as the page is opened. A link to the, Health Guide to the Perplexed, made the site very versatile. More info., than a lot of sites, but lacked detail. Comes from Medical Examiner homepage. 4. http://www.netaxs.com/~iris/cts/welcome.html Another page that comes from another. This site is my favorite. I liked that I was able to submit a link. This option I didnt find on any other site. I liked it because the site is growing everyday by people who are suffering, and are interested in helping others find relief. From this particular site I was able to find all I needed to know on the disease. I would recommend this site first to anybody who is looking for info., on Carpal Tunnel. 5. http://www.repetetive-strain.com/ Very general. This site is a monthly news letter. There were tons of links, and a lot of information on tons of diseases that are similar to Carpal Tunnel. Since it is a monthly newsletter, it is updated. New information as it comes in is pretty cool, waiting for a month isnt. I would recommend this site to look at for detail on causes, but thats about it. I got tired of looking for links that took me to what I wanted to find. I think sometimes a site that is too big isnt always a good thing.
