RTM 251 - Essay Testing

You are at this link to redo your essay questions for Quiz 1 and/or Quiz 3.

The first step in the process is to review important criteria for writing a winning essay question. Read this page from the Purdue writing lab as your beginning point. You might want to spend more time with this excellent online writing resource but the initial page clarifies what I expect for a solid essay question:

1) answer the question asked (accomplished by careful reading - always read the question at least twice)

2) develop a logical and organized response to the question (accomplished by thinking and scribble a quick outline somewhere in your note space; always start with a statement of your purpose/argument)

3) support statements with relevant evidence (quote relevant supporting information, reference research authors, give dates to really impress)

The second step is to review your class notes on the material for the exam in preparation for the essay question you are about to face.

The third step is to take the essay question for Quiz I by following this link and/or the essay question for Quiz III. Some of you are interested in re-taking both essays, others just one of them. The essay test is time sensitive (30 minutes) so enter the exam prepared.

You must complete the essay redo by April 30.

One final note: remember that essays are written by you in your own unique writing style. The number of students using the copy/paste/cheat technique is on the rise. So above all else - be honest. Thank you in advance for your honesty.
