Course Requirement #1 — Ten Tests On Line For CD (50%)

·         There will be Ten Tests taken online for this course (hence, there is no midterm nor final exam).

·         Each test will include twenty questions. Typically, the first 15 questions on each test will come from the on-line Topics; while the remaining five will come from a chapter of the course textbook. However, on the last test, Test ten, all of the questions come from the On-line Topic discussion.

·         Please note that the On-line Topics do not correlate in terms of their focus with the chapters of the text book.

·         Also, please be aware that questions on a Test may include information from previous Topic discussions,

·         You may take the Tests in any order, and at any time. However, my recommendation is to take them sequentially. You may retake a Test as often as you wish. I will keep your highest scores.

·         Each question will have a multiple choice format, presenting a statement and 5 possible answers. Only one correct answer is intended.

·         Also, please be aware that every time you open a Test, while the order of the questions from 1 to 20 remains constant, the order of the options under each question may rotate!  So be sure to read these options before you check off your answer.

Not sure--give an explanation.

·         For any question that you feel is ambiguous or unclear, you are invited to send the rationale for your answer in a separate email message to ehall@csun.edu, and your explanation will be taken into consideration.

·         An example of a test question:

8. This is a course in:

A) Tropical agriculture

B) Family planning

C) Frustration

D) Language Development in Children

E) all of the above.

(The intended answer there was hopefully #4)

·         Example of an email message from a student:

Dr. Hall, on question #8 of Test 1, if you consider moving to Hawaii and eating raw pineapple, mangoes and papayas, to produce more children while decreasing frustration, this will facilitate language development...

so I choose E, all of the above.

When you submit a Test on-line, the computer will tell you the test has been successfully transmitted.

·         You may view and/or take the tests at any time and you may take the same test as many times as you wish. Students typically print them out first and use them as a study guide.

·         When you retake the test please be aware that although the questions and answers remain the same, the order of the options under each question may change!

·         When you submit a test, the computer will tell you that the test has been successfully transmitted. You may then click on the option to return to either the WebCt version, or the Power Point version of CD 361. I will send you an email message within 48 hours (or on Monday for week-ends) acknowledging receipt of the test, and reporting to you the score (out of 20) that you received.
