This semester, we're taking a short course at the University of Texas, Austin.
Through the courtesy of the Department of Advertising at the University of Texas, Austin, we have a unique educational resource at our disposal: the Power Advertising Media Planner software on the web. Power AMP is both a media tutorial and a planning model. As a package, it offers an interesting as well as a truly innovative approach to learning the basics of media planning.
All sections of M440 will have an opportunity to try the Power Advertising Media Planning tutorial and supporting software. It consists of six lessons covering the fundamental tools of media planning. Problems and a case are provided with each lesson.
Carefully read lessons 1-3. Work the problems (not the cases) for Chaps. 1 & 3. Bring your work to class for discussion on the dates indicated below. At this point, your comments will be appreciated here at Northridge as well as at Austin. It's unlikely that there will be sufficient time to cover all six lessons this semester. Handout to follow!
