and Email Roster] Course Requirements The main requirement is the preparation of a seminar paper, twenty five pages in length, excluding the bibliography and footnotes which may be included as endnotes after the text. The topic should focus on an issue dealing with Reagan and the U.S. in the 1980s that is suitable for primary research and that requires some primary research at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. The first drafts of the paper will be reviewed by the class with assigned discussion leaders. Two copies of the final paper should be turned in at the last class meeting. Course Schedule The class will meet several times at the start of the semester to define appropriate topics and review research materials and approaches and at the end for discussion of the first drafts. During the interim students will meet individually with the instructor to discuss aspects of the paper. The following meetings are mandatory before the submission of the final paper:
Grading The final grade will be based on the quality of the paper, the research effort put into the paper, the effort as discussion leader of the first drafts, and participation in discussion of the first drafts. The plus/minus grading system will be used. Current Topics
