MULTIPLICATION OF POLYNOMINALS

1.To multiply one polynominal by another, multiply each term of
  the one polynominal by each term of the other.
2.Multiply the numberical coefficients and if the bases are the
  same ADD THE EXPONENTS.
Examples:
  1.  4    3             4+3     7    (THESE ARE THE EXPONENTS)
     X  . X     =       X    =  X

  2.   2        3               2 1   3 1      3 4
     2X Y  . 3XY =     (2 . 3)(X X )(Y Y ) = 6X Y

  3.    2                        2          2
     3AB  . 3XY  =     (3 . 3)(AB )(XY) =9AB XY

  4. Multiply (y+3) by (y-6)
     FOIL-Multiply the first two terms of each binominal together,
          then the outer two,then the inner two, then the last two.

     1. y . y  = y
     2. y . -6 = -6y
     3. 3 . y  = +3y
     4. 3 . -6 = -18

     5. Add the results then answer is y -3y-18
