ALEGEBRA-SOLVING EQUATIONS BY ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION-302A

Rule:  You can add or subtract the same number from both sides of
       an equation and the equation will still be equal.

Note:  The objective is to get the unknown ( x ) on one side of the
       equation by its self.
                  Example 1                     Example 2
                 X     +10 = 15             X  -10      = 15

STEP 1.  Add or subtract a number from both sides of equation.        
                 X -10 +10 = 15 -10         X  -10 +10  = 15 +10

STEP 2.  Simplify.
                 X         =  5             X           = 25

STEP 3.  Check equation.
                 5     +10 = 15             25 -10       = 15
