Course Coverage: Field Axioms; Sequences of Real Numbers; Bolzano-
	  Weierstrass Theorem; Topology of the Real Numbers; Limits
	  and Continuity; Monotone and Inverse Functions; Differen-
	  tiation; Mean Value Theorems; The Riemann Integral; 
	  Riemann- Stieltjes Integral; Properties and Applications
	  of Integration; Series of Real Numbers; Sequences and 
	  Series of Functions.

Grading (with tentative content of exams):  
       
        Quests (chapters 1 (8%), 3 (8%), and 5 (8%))           24% 
	Quizzes                                                10%
        Exam 1 (chapters 1 and 2)                              16% 
        Exam 2 (chapters 3 and 4)                              16%
        Homework                                               12%
        Final Exam (comprehensive)                             22%

        +/- grading system will be used

Remarks:

   1.  To pass this class (letter grade D) your total course score
       (computed according to the above percentages) must be at
       least 50.

   2.  No late homeworks will be accepted. 
       
   3.  There are no make up exams. In case of an emergency please 
       make sure to contact me as soon as possible to make appropriate
       arrangements for late homeworks and exams.

   4.  All exams will be closed books and closed notes. 
       
   6.  There will be absolutely no makeup final exams. Make sure that
       you don't have any conflicts with the time and the day of the
       final exam for this class.
