HISTORY 476
Fall 2013
First “DIG”
This is the first of four
opportunities this semester to do a little digging into primary sources in
search of evidence that corroborates, complicates, or even contradicts the
readings for the course. This need not be
an extensive research project – your response should be about 400 words (~1 ˝ pages).
The websites below provide
ample primary sources that deal with the experiences of youth during the New
Deal. Once you have done some digging,
select ONE of the sources (an
article, speech, personal reflection, etc.) and summarize it, highlighting the main argument or point of view
of the author. Then explain how this document might support
or refute the materials relating to youth during the Depression that we have
watched or discussed in class.

You may, of course, do more.
