Interview with Creative Genius: Nikki Giovanni, and Web Page designer Dan Petruzzi
The purpose of this page is to feature some of the most creative shows that I think are out there. I watch all of these shows on a regular basis and if you were to ask I really could not tell you exactly why. I guess if I had to answer that question I would say that each one of these shows has a theme that really catches the viewer. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation-Las Vegas. This show is one of my absolute favorites and also if I may add...very creative. The premise of the show follows 5 main characters who work in a crime lab in Las Vegas. In the past what audiences have found to be interesting are the police dramas but this show is unconventional in the way that it has put the spotlight on people who work for forensics. The special effects and graphics on this show are phenomenal. In addition, I would recommend this show to everyone except for those with weak stomachs because the show gets a little graphic at times with the cadavers!
The Chappelle Show I don't know if any of you have ever seen this show if you have...then you know why its featured here and if you haven't then you are really missing out. Comic Dave Chappelle is one of the most creatively funny people around. I cant even begin to explain how humorous and on time he really is. Just make sure that you watch his show on Tuesdays @ 10pm so you can find out exactly why everyone is saying "I'm Rick James beotch!!!"
Survivor: Vanuatu Its so odd but I really didn't get into watching this show until the last season. I would hear people talking about it and I just didn't understand what they were talking about but now I do. The reason why I find the show to be so entertaining because it shows people at their most rawest and weakest moments. I think that as a psychology major the show is interesting to watch because you can see human nature and survival of the fittest at work.
Girlfriends I absolutely love this show. I think that it is very creative in the fact that it shows how black women are in real life. I think that this show takes a spin on allot of real life issues and brings them to a wider audience. The show is one of the most realistic and believable shows that I have ever seen. Be sure to check it out...it comes on Monday-Friday from 4-5pm and also on Monday nights at 9pm.
The wire This show is an HBO series that comes on at 9pm on Sundays. The story takes place on the mean streets of Baltimore, Maryland. The main characters are the detectives (pictured at the far right) and the story follows them as they try to bring down some of Baltimore's biggest crime lords. I think that this is one of the most creative crime dramas that i have ever seen. HBO takes a creative approach and you are able to follow not only the characters at work but also in their daily lives.
Sex and the City. This is another HBO series that i cannot go without. The plot of the show follows these 4 fabulous women throughout their lives in New York city. The main focus of the show is the relationships that they are in and how they deal with them. For some reason they come across the weirdest relationships and it is really funny to watch. By the way...i own of few of the complete seasons on DVD!
