Overview
Computer technology is becoming more and more an integral part of daily life. Computer skills are widely used in and out of school. This class focuses on keyboarding skills and the software programs Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Photoshop Elements. Keyboarding will be stressed on accuracy, speed and finger position. Microsoft Word will be used to demonstrate knowledge of business related documents such as letters, reports, and memos. MS Word will also be taught to be effective for school assignments. PowerPoint will revolve around presentations and Photoshop will be used for creation and manipulation of images. In developing a fundamental knowledge these programs students will work with Windows Operating System. The goal upon completion of this course is that students will:
- Demonstrate high alpha-numeric keyboarding skills
- Expand their computer technology vocabulary
- Be confident and able to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Photoshop
- Create, save, and retrieve documents
- Be proficient in using the internet to gather information
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic operations of a computer
