Chapter 6:  Mental Retardation


Nice work on chapters 4/5 everyone!  Please try to send everything 
through email or the publisher's website.  Let's avoid the U.S. mail 
and FAX machines!

5th Assignment

1. Go to the Prentice Hall website: http://www.prenhall.com/heward

2. At the bottom of this page, you will see a scroll box entitled 
   "Select a Chapter."  Choose Chapter 6, Mental Retardation, and 
   click on "Begin."

3. You should now see the objectives for Chapter 6.  Down the left 
   hand side of the screen you should see a list including the words: 
   Objectives, Guided Review, Multiple Choice, IEP Planning, Resources, 
   Message Board, and others.

4. For Chapter 6, the Guided Review questions are due by midnight 
   on 3/13/01 (That's Tuesday night.  I'm giving you an extra day since 
   I'm a bit behind in posting this assignment).  Complete all 6 sections 
   of the Guided Review.  Yes, that means you will submit 6 different 
   documents just like you did for chapter 2.  I will acknowledge their 
   receipt after I've gotten all 6.  The titles of the sections are:

   I. Defining Mental Retardation
   II. Prevalence
   III. Causes of Mental Retardation
   IV. Educational Approaches
   V. Educational Placement Alternatives
   VI. Current Issues and Future Trends

Hint:  You can print out questions, complete them at your 
leisure and then return to the site to enter your answers.
