Cre
Interview with Arvie Lowe Jr.
Occupation: Web Designer/Producer/Actor
Do you think that you would be able to teach what you do?
NOT AT ALL!! (And I'm not even joking) Reason being, that web design is an ever changing art form. With the advent of new programs and a growing internet population, I couldn't possibly keep up. You will soon start to notice that the DOTCOM's are slowly dissappearing and will be replaced by more personal domain tags such as......... for instance one for every state like (ex:www.yournamehere.la or www.anysite.me)
There are so many ways in web design that you can arrive at the final product that it will make your head spin. Most web developers will need to re-train to keep up with current web design methods.
What inspires you?
I've been a MACINTOSH user since before I can remember, and using their product has taught me very valuable lessons in "user interface". What Inspires me, is how people would LIKE to use products or services. EASY, SIMPLE, and SLICK! Picture Tom Cruise scrubbing the playhead with his hands in mid air in the movie "Minority Report" and you'll catch my drift. When you go to a web site, you want the user to feel like that.
What is your favorite accomplishment?
My 1st website I EVER built and uploaded was for my former rock band (RAYZING SONS) and it wasn't because I WANTED to build it. I had to learn the hard way, heading to the library, buying web design books, and building out of necessity because it was something that we needed. I'm proud of it because if you know anything about the tedious process of web design, you'll know that if any part of your coding is wrong, then your site wont work properly, and BOY oh BOY were there times when I wanted to throw my laptop out of the window. But I stuck to it and before you know it , I was adding flash movies, and quite ahead of the curve for someone without formal training.
Who do you define as a visionary?
STEVE JOBS, my hero. Just his raw "stick-to-it-iveness" he has for his company is what I admire most about him. Imagine being the man that created a product that changed the way people communicate and store information. In my opinion, he singlehandedly moved the world closer to a future we can honestly see being more and more "JETSONS" like, and I'm sure he's just getting started.
