The coursework presented will introduce the student user to concepts, techniques, and terminology of computing. The course will provide a general overview of theories, concepts, techniques and practical applications. The questions of ethical, social, security and privacy issues are encompassed in the course. The course will demonstrate how computers assist in a wide range of personal, commercial and organizational activities. The objective of the course is to have the students become self-sufficient, competent computer users as well as teach them the fundamentals of computer use, computer nomenclatures, architectures, networks, hardware, software and the Internet.

The course curriculum is taught through WebCT, and will expose students to today’s computer technology utilizing a systematic approach through demonstrations, discussions and practical applications.
