Reading Material for Multiple Choice Exams

Test 1 (Sept. 5)
All 35 questions on this test are a review of Psy. 305 concepts. Be sure to be able to apply concepts such as absolutizing, when an F or A or T is normative, the differnt kinds of conformity, the different degrees of conformity, the T(1) and T(2) rules, the different kinds of schachter effect, the different degrees of that effect, what kinds of people self-schachter, the different steps of the schachter effect, and the reasons societies give for why you must conform. Be able to describe the different kinds of marriage and family and sex norms, and our culture's four definitions of "unnatural act."

  1. Book: LOVE AND ADDICTION by Prof. Stanton Peele. Please read ONLY Chapters 1, 4, and 9.
  2. Artilce: "Why6 psychoanalysis? The unconscious: Taking Psychoanalysis Seriously?" by Dr. Ian Craib
  3. Article: (one page) "The amazing RISE in mortality." (This article is at the end of the Library Reserve article entitled "Psychoabuse.") Like the other articles, it is also in your Psy 305 packet.
  4. Article: "Childhood: The last frontier of sex research" by Dr. John Money. (Not in your Psy 305 packet, but cna be purchased at campus bookstore.)

Review Day. No regular class. Instead, you will get help in how to take the Final Exam

FINAL EXAM (Dec. 12)

Cumulative FINAL EXAM about ALL guest speakers (50 questions) and a review of Psy 305 concepts (50 questions). There are 100 multiple-choice questions altogether.
No Class. (Exam starts at 8:00, instead of usual 7:00 class time.)
