Josh Sides

Dr. Sides joined the CSUN History Department in 2005 as the second Whitsett Professor of California History, and was appointed as the Director for Center for Southern California Studies in 2007. At CSUN, he teaches classes on urban history, the West, African Americans, and California. He has published numerous articles and two books, Erotic City: Sexual Revolutions and the Making of Modern San Francisco (New York: Oxofrd University Press, 2009) and L.A. City Limits: African American Los Angeles from the Great Depression to the Present (Berkeley: University of California Press, 2004). He is currently working on an anthology about black Los Angeles at the Millenium.
